HEBREWS

CHINA
had a Chinese ideographic writing, which means that each symbol expresses an idea or object, as opposed to syllabic or alphabetic forms as ours. It was not easy to write the symbols and also the government had no interest in spreading the writing and reading because it suited him to keep people in ignorance. So very few, the nobility and the mandarins, could read and write. The basis of China's economy was rice and tea.
